Occupying a beautiful beachfront location overlooking the spectacular Freycinet peninsula, Swansea Beach Chalets welcomes you to an oasis away from it all. Explore the stunning east coast of Tasmania from our central location, catch a fish, or just play - the choice is yours. Located on Jubilee Beach within the historic township of Swansea, Swansea Beach Chalets is an easy 1.5 hours drive from Hobart, and 40 minutes drive from Coles Bay, Freycinet National Park or Bicheno. If wine is to your taste, then Springvale, Devils Corner, Coombend and Craigie Knowe vineyards are even closer. With private balconies - some with expansive views over the bay, each of our spacious chalets are fully self contained.

The fully self-contained two bedroom waterfront chalets each have a bedroom with a Queen bed, and a second bedroom with two single beds.
This self-contained 2-bedroom chalet features a queen bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the second. A large covered veranda opens off the lounge area. Some have partial water views. A short walk takes you to private beach frontage.
The self contained 1 bedroom studio chalet features a queen size bed and separate living spaces both inside and outside. Enjoy some partial views from most chalets over the bay to the Freycinet Peninsula. A short walk takes you to private beach frontage.
Easy Access Chalet
The self-contained easy access 2-bedroom chalet features a queen bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the second. This chalet has been specifically designed and constructed with ease of mobility in mind for our guests that require it.
Swansea is a pretty seaside village that looks out over Great Oyster Bay to the spectacular granite peaks of Freycinet National Park, with a rich colonial history, unique attractions and old world charm.
Centrally located on the Great Eastern Drive, the town is surrounded by beautiful beaches and with Freycinet Peninsula in the distance, there are few towns in Tasmania that enjoy such beautiful scenery.
The beachfront accommodation at Swansea Beach Chalets has been sited to maximise the coastal location with some Chalets offering uninterrupted water views across to the Freycinet Peninsula. We offer a range of facilities, such as swimming pool, children's playground, games room and communal BBQ pavilion. Stroll down to the beach to relax or participate in various water activities. A short 5 minute walk will take you to Swansea town centre.
Swansea is quiet, friendly and laid back, even when the town fills with holiday makers over the summer months.
The town centre is home to many interesting historic buildings, with a terrific local history museum that shares the town's stories and artifacts. Local cafes and restaurants serve Swansea's fresh harvests from land and sea - including the town's famous oysters - and nearby vineyards and farm gates offer tasty drops, fresh fruit, walnuts, olives and more.

Freycinet National Park
Freycinet National Park is home to dramatic pink granite peaks, secluded bays, white sandy beaches and abundant birdlife. Situated on Tasmania's beautiful East Coast, the park occupies most of the Freycinet Peninsula and looks out to the Tasman Sea from the eastern side and back towards the Tasmanian coastline from the west.
Freycinet National Park is loaded with natural assets, including the pink granite peaks of the Hazards Range that dominate the Peninsula and the iconic Wineglass Bay. The short trek to Wineglass Bay lookout is a bit of a scramble, but it's well worth it for one of Tasmania's most photographed views.
There are many more short walks across the park that are suitable for all abilities and that lead to secluded bays, clean beaches and bird-filled lagoons.
Milton Vineyard has a unique micro-climate that suits the ancient grape Pinot Noir. Also in their 13 hectare vineyard are plantings of the aromatics Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer. Their focus is on producing small quantities of handmade wine.
Milton is also home to Sophie's Restaurant. With her French approach to Tasmanian produce, along with a passion for food and meticulous attention to detail, chef Sophie Bermudes offers guests a seasonal and delicious a la carte lunch menu in a relaxed environment. Take-away picnic options are also available.

Sit out on the deck and take in the panoramic views of the majestic Hazards and Freycinet Peninsula. Located on the East Coast, Devil’s Corner Cellar Door is more than just a place to taste our award winning wines.
‘The Fishers’ serve freshly shucked oysters and seafood straight from the Freycinet Marine Farm. Tombolo Café dish up pizza straight from the wood-fired oven, with espresso coffee and gelato a specialty.
And if our new cellar door doesn’t floor you, the view from the look-out certainly will.

Their Aqua Taxi service provides transfer from Coles Bay to a range of drop off points within the National Park. Locations include Hazards Beach, Cooks Beach & Schouten Island. Take the aqua taxi to Hazards Beach to enjoy a flat 30 minute walk to Wineglass Bay.

Melshell Oysters Farm Gate Shop is located at yellow sandbanks road, Dolphin Sands. Fantastic view of the Swan River as you slurp down a dozen. You can see the farm activity as Ian and the boys work in the background.

Bicheno's Glass Bottom Boat operates from Bicheno, on Tasmania's East Coast from September through April.
The cool temperate waters offer excellent viewing of the creatures that live there and the luxuriant and rarely seen plant life is a spectacle itself. Your guide has many years of experience and can offer comprehensive and knowledgeable interpretation. Every day is different and the effect of the East Australian current is at times dramatic with many different life forms travelling in it.
Spring Vale Winery
Spring Vale Winery are a small 5th generation family owned vineyard, located in Cranbrook on Tasmania's stunning Freycinet Coast.
Spring Vale grapes are grown with an in depth knowledge of our local terroir. Intimate attention to quality and flavour, allows them to produce premium, award-winning wines at their on-site winery.
Springvale Cellar Door is open for wine sales and tastings 11am-4pm daily.
Inspired by the tremendous opportunities of the East Coast of Tasmania, Geoff and Susan Bull cleared the site in 1978, planted the first vines in 1979 and established the first commerical winery on the East Coast. They were early pioneers in a new region which years later revealed exciting quality potential in wines. The region now boasts over a dozen different vineyards.
The Freycinet Vineyard and Winery is family owned with daughter Lindy Bull and her partner Claudio Radenti taking over the family tradition of gently handcrafting the wines.
Farm Shed East Coast Wine Centre
The Farm Shed East Coast Wine Centre is an exciting new addition to Bicheno’s hospitality and retail scene. It showcases the magnificent wines of the region and incorporates wine-tastings and sales, coffee and wine bar, a retail gallery for Tasmanian art and design, and a post office.
Devils in the Dark
Devils in the dark showcases the iconic Tasmanian devil at night. This amazing animal can be seen at many parks and zoos but the opportunity to see this nocturnal animal come to life after dark in an, as wild as possible setting, is a truely amazing experience. Devils in the dark was established by a wildlife expert with 30 years experience viewing Tasmanian devils in the wild places of Tasmania.
Bicheno Motorcycle Museum
Bicheno Motorcycle Museum is a unique museum dedicated to motorcycles. There are 70 motorcycles on display at any given time and the display is always changing. They also carry out motorcycle restorations, and sell vintage spare parts and tyres, road and dirt tyres, plus buy and sell vintage and modern motorcycles.
The blowhole is one of Bicheno's natural wonders where you can view saltwater blasts from the top of this unique geological feature. Air is blown through a small hole at the surface due to pressure differences between a closed underground system and the surface. When the seas are pumping, the blowhole puts on a spectacular display! The 80 tonne boulder next to the blowhole rocks with the tide.
Wineglass Bay Cruises

Let their experienced and friendly crew guide you through the sights and history of the Freycinet Peninsula; taking you from the gentle shores of Coles Bay, to one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Stop for lunch at Wineglass Bay and enjoy some of Tasmania’s finest fresh produce, selected by the head chef at Freycinet Lodge.
Ocean Blue Safaris
Ocean Blue Safaris oceangoing speed boat takes you on a thrilling ride around Freycinet Peninsula to the world famous beach, where you’ll discover the wild side of the National Park usually only accessible to locals connected to the region. You will also learn about the significant Aboriginal heritage of the area and why it is called ‘The Place Where Sleeping Gods Lie’.
Freycinet Paintball is Tasmania's newest paintball field, located on the Freycinet Peninsula on the beautiful East Coast. Their aim is to provide an exhilarating, adrenalin-fuelled experience in a safe and natural environment.
Whether you’re a novice or a pro you can expect to be impressed. They have 6.5 acres of playing fields consisting of realistic structures and props to set the ultimate combat scene! You can choose the open field if you’re fearless or seek solace in a bunker, trench or fort.
